Cartagena, Colombia – Birding at a farm outside of the city, with a variety of habitats, including wetlands with about 90 species possible including,  Northern Screamer, Pied Water-Tyrant, Cattle Tyrant, White-headed Marsh Tyrant, Bare-face Ibis, Amazon Kingfisher, Ring Kingfisher, Russet-throated Puffbird, and Rufous-tailed Jacamar to name a few.

Colon Panama – Visiting Gamboa, we will visit a B&B with feeding stations, and bird the areas nearby including the famous Pipeline road, looking for Motmots, Trogons, Toucans, Oropendolas, and Tanagers. One day we transit the Panama Canal and will look for rails, Hawks, Flycatchers, Toucans, Monkeys, and Crocodiles from the rail.

Costa Rica – In Puntarenas we will visit National Park Carara to bird some back roads, searching for Scarlet Macaws, Double-striped Thick-Knee, Blue-tailed Hummingbird, Trogons, Motmots, and White-throated Magpie to name a few

Guatemala – Visiting La Reunion Resort, we will be up in the hills, in the canopy and near a volcano – looking for hummingbirds, motmots, Rose-throated Becard, Rufous-naped Wren, Rufous-capped Warbler, Golden-olive Woodpecker and more.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – At a nearby wetland/wooded area near the convention center, we will hope to see Military Macaws, Citreoline Trogon, Flycatchers, San Blas Jay, Sinaloa Wren, Cacique, and Orioles.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Stopping at a hotel near town that has gardens, then we head to the protected wetland area San Jose del Cabo Estuary. With luck we may see Xantus’s Hummingbird, Gila Woodpecker, Gilded Flicker, Belding’s Yellowthroat, Scott’s Oriole, Phainopepla, Cactus Wren, Western Scrub Jay and others.
